Ethiopian Nurses Association

The Ethiopian Nurses Association (ENA) was established in 1952 and is the oldest and pioneer Professional Association in Ethiopia.  It is a legalized professional Association that represents nurses in Ethiopia, striving to improve nursing services to the benefit of the society and standing for the right of nurses and clients. ENA’s main objectives are to develop a standardized nursing services appropriate to Ethiopia, organize nurses under the umbrella of ENA to provide standardized nursing service to the community and promote the rights of nurses and clients by working with policy makers and other health professionals. The financial and technical support of the Canadian Nurses Association had been of paramount importance to the present successes and achievements of ENA. 

ENA is a legally recognized and registered professional Association by Charities and Societies Agency, Ministry of Justice.

ENA strives to provide and promote quality nursing services to the society through research, education, and advocacy and by standing for the rights of nurses.

ENA’s vision is to restore and revitalize the quality of nursing services and the quality of life of the Ethiopian Public.  ENA will be a recognized contributor and leader in this endeavor.
